Creating a safer boating future by keeping it simple.

It’s a big responsibility skippering a boat; a lot can go wrong very quickly.

The skipper of a recreational vessel is wholly responsible for all safety aspects of both their vessel and their passengers. They are required to have an understanding of the International Regulations for the Prevention of Collision at Sea (COLREGs), and knowledge of regulations that apply to their vessel’s safety equipment. They must be able to recognise navigation aids and lights, and understand how they are applied during day/night, in the safe navigation of a vessel. In addition, a skipper needs to know their vessel’s limitations and ensure they are operating well within the margins of safety.

At Fremantle Boat School, we strive to instil in all our skippers the knowledge, skill and confidence to ensure a safe and enjoyable boating experience for all on board.

Skipper’s Ticket Training

Fremantle Boat School was established in 2006 and aims to provide high quality, outcome-based training.
Our visual teaching style incorporates pictures, graphics, charts and diagrams to demonstrate the theory content of any course. For best results, we recommend one on one and smaller groups.
